Dear Jewish Center Family,

We are proud to share that this Simchat Torah eve, Tuesday, October 14, the JCT will be partnering with CareOne, Netivot Shalom, and Bergen B’Yachad to bring youth-friendly hakafot to the entire community.

This year, we chose to bring our youth program to CareOne to share the joy of Simchat Torah with those who cannot be home for the holiday and instill in our children the mitzvah of bikur cholim. Last year, there was not even a minyan at CareOne, only two people showed up, and the residents were quite disappointed. We wanted to make sure something like that wouldn’t happen again.

We recognize this may be a change in routine, but given the tremendous chessed opportunity and the joy we can bring to others, we hope you will join and make this night meaningful.

Mincha will begin at 4:50 PM, followed by Maariv and hakafot at 5:10 PM and will take place at CareOne - 544 Teaneck Rd.

A kid friendly dinner will be served.

We will, of course, have our regularly scheduled Simchat Torah programming at the shul.

A special thank-you to Aviya Marsha, our interim Youth Director, for helping to facilitate this event, and to Rabbi Fridman and the board for their support in making it possible.
